~O~

For You soul thirsts all the time
And in You Lord want to dwell
You're always there I can tell
In You find best friend that's true
In You put trust when I fall
Cause He cares for you and me
He's the Life, Light and the Way.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (NIV)

John 3:16 (NIV)

- Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer
Romans 12: 12 ( NIV )

-For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this World, against spiritual
wickedness in the high places.

- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4: 13 ( NIV )

-What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Matthew 16:26 (NIV)

1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.

3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good.

4. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

- HOW TO KNOW JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR -

A salvation prayer, known by many Christians as a 'Sinners Prayer,' is a prayer one would say to repent from sin, ask God for forgiveness, confess belief in Jesus Christ, and accept him as Lord and Savior. Saying a salvation prayer is the first step in your personal relationship with God.
If you believe the Bible offers truth about the way of salvation, but you have not taken the step to become a Christian, it's as simple as praying this prayer. You can pray by yourself, using your own words. There is no special formula. Just pray from your heart to God, and he will save you. If you feel lost and donít know what to pray, hereís a salvation prayer that you can follow:

Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that donít please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry, and I repent. I ask You to forgive me.
I believe that You died on the cross for me to save me. You did what I could not do for myself. I come to You now and ask you to take control of my life; I give it to You. From this day forward, help me to live every day for You and in a way that pleases You.
I love you, Lord, and I thank You that I will spend all eternity with You.
Amen.

If you have just prayed this prayer, congratulations!

You have received Christ as your Savior and have made the best decision you will ever makeóone that will change your life forever!

~ BAD NEWS, GOOD NEWS ~

- Ephesians 2:1-9 -

When it comes to salvation, itís difficult to truly appreciate the good news until we understand the bad news of our spiritual conditionónamely, we all come into this world dead in our transgressions and sins. In the Scriptures, there are different meanings for death. Physical death is what everyone experiences at the end of earthly life. Spiritual death is alienation from God because of sin, and itís the inherent condition of all mankind. Eternal death is the final outcome without salvation, and it results in everlasting separation from the Lord. Without Christ, the situation is hopeless, which is grim news indeed.

But thereís good news. Jesus did what was necessary to bring us back into a relationship with God. He was the only person who ever lived a completely righteous life, and as He hung dying on the cross, the Father placed all the guilt of our sins upon Him. Christís death was Ö

Sacrificial. The animal sacrifices in the Old Testament foreshadowed the perfect Lamb of God, who would make the final atonement for sins.

Substitutionary. Since Jesus bore the punishment for us, we no longer have to pay the penalty for our sins.

Sufficient. We canít earn salvation because we will never be holy like God. But since Jesus was perfect, His sacrifice on our behalf proved acceptable to the Father. His blood adequately covers our sins.

Everyone dies, but those of us who have been saved are no longer alienated from God. Believers will never suffer eternal death but instead are given everlasting life.

-Thought Of The Day-

~ THE WAGES OF SIN ~

- Romans 6:21-23 -

God sent His Son to take our punishment by dying in our place. Unless believers understand this provision, they will doubt their salvation. We canít be good enough to earn heaven. All are born with a corrupted nature; therefore, we will at times sin, no matter how hard we try not to. The Bible compares our attempts at righteous deeds to filthy rags (Isa. 64:6).

On its own, mankind has but one option with regard to sin: to die in it and spend eternity separated from God. But the Father so loved the world that He chose to punish His Son in our place (John 3:16). It was a severe price to pay. Holy God cannot look upon the squalor of sin, so when Jesus became sin for all mankind, the Father had to turn away (2 Cor. 5:21). The physical suffering of crucifixion was terrible, but nothing compared to Jesusí wrenching horror when the Father left Him. The devastated Messiah cried out, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?' (Mark 15:34).

Jesus accepted separation from the Father so we wouldnít have to. When Paul said that the wages of sin was death, he was referring to eternal separation from God (Rom. 6:23). As believers, we are saved and forever reconciled with the Lord because of what Jesus has done.

The Savior took our place and accepted humanityís punishment for sin. He and the Father have done the hard work of salvation so that you and I can live a life of peace, freedom, and hope and never be separated from our Creator. If you believe that Jesus Christóthe Son of Godó died for your sins, then you too are saved.

~ FAILING TO LISTEN TO GOD ~

- Genesis 3:1-13-

Todayís passage offers a picture of what can happen when believers donít listen to God. Eve knew the Lordís instructions so well that she repeated them almost verbatim to the serpent. However, pride and desire got the better of her, and she was deceived. Eve stopped listening to God and opened her ears to the wrong voice.

Think about how many voices we hear in a given day. Articles, podcasts, and even friends and family bombard our minds with ideas and philosophies. We hear superficial messages wrapped up in pretty language. Itís easy to fall prey to deception unless we renew our mind with Godís Word.

Eve got into trouble simply by pausing long enough to take in the serpentís words. Satan twisted Godís meaning sufficiently to tempt her away from truth and into error. He assured Eve that instead of falling over dead, she would become like God: Her eyes would open, and she would know truth!

In one way, Satanís words were accurate, but they werenít true. Eveís eyes were opened; however, the knowledge wasnít as wonderful as the serpent implied. She was awakened to her own sinful nature and the chasm that had developed between her and God. Moreover, Eveís physical body would undergo death as a result of her sin.

Exercise caution when messages vie for your attention. Satan, who is as crafty today as he was in Eden, dresses up deception so that it sounds like truth. But the Evil One lies when he speaks (John 8:44). Tune into God and the principles of His Word instead. He speaks only what is right.

-Reflect & Pray -

There's no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to
do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

-1 John 4: 18

When do you find yourself feeling pressured to believe fear is greater than love? How might your relationships with others change if you believed you donít need to be afraid?

Loving God, thank You for Your love. Help us to trust in and follow Your light and love even when the way gets dark.
