Beautiful Child, Damaged Child

Beautiful Child, Damaged Child

Beautiful child, so innocent and pure,
Trusting child, so loving and demure.
Loving mother, so warm and dear,
Caring mother, so compassionate and sincere.

Protecting father, so guiding and nurturing,
Nighttime father, likes touching and feeling?
Beautiful child, now shy and withdrawn,
Sad child, quiet child, something's wrong!

Nighttime father, shadow on bedroom wall,
Trusting child, will loving mother come if I call?
Loving mother, beautiful child needs you so.
Protecting father, nighttime shadow needs to go.

Innocent child,damaged and torn apart,
Nighttime father broke trusting child's heart.
Caring mother, PLEASE, PLEASE, open the door,
Beautiful child can't take nighttime shadows anymore.

Damaged child tells loving mother what shadowman has done,
Compassionate mother doesn't know whether to cry or run.
Protecting mother holds damaged child so very tight,
Loving mother will try to make everything all right.

Nighttime father, shadowman, needs to go away,
Protecting, nurturing father might come back some day.
Loving mother, beautiful child, try to heal and forget.
Innocent, trusting child may just make it yet.
