Barbed Wire

Do not ask unless you are prepared to see
If I wanted pity I would ask..

I do not want to be your “best friend”
My only friend is myself

Do not tell me your problems..
I have enough of my own,
I am not your agony aunt

Don’t ask me for sympathy…
I don’t care enough to feel it for you

Do not expect me to entertain you..
There is no handle to make me work

Do not ask me to love you..
The word isn’t in my vocabulary

Do not tell me to cheer up..
If you do not like my attitude..
Leave..

When I give you an answer..
Don’t blame me if it isn’t what you were seeking
I am not here to appease you

When I do not call..
Don’t call me
I will not be kept track of..
Over-enthusiasm annoys me

I will not necessarily speak when spoken to
I am more seen and not heard
If I have something to tell you..
Listen carefully..
I do not repeat myself..

Do not give me your heart..
Frailty and I are not friends

Trust me,
But do not expect me to trust you..
Until you prove your worth

Do not expect that if I leave..
You will ever see me again,
Prepare for the worst..
I do

Do not ask me about the future,
When you know nothing about my past

Do not make plans for me,
I do not operate on a schedule

Better yet…
Just don’t….
