Fear

I see no fear,
But it is within,
Threatening to engulf me.

I feel no fear,
But it is in every breath I draw,
Menacing and ready to pounce.

I am not afraid of fear,
But it exists in every moment of my life,
Watching with pale gleaming eyes.

I live without fear,
But it is still there,
Waiting without a voice and full of patience.

I sense no fear,
But it keeps its place in the one place I know I'll never look,
It is there.

I fear no fear,
But the knowledge that it will take over me one day as well makes me cold with sweat,
It will win.

I am ready for fear,
But it will strike at me when I am least expected,
It wears out my sanity.

I know no fear,
But it will make itself known to me with force,
It has roots beyond the abyss.

I tolerate no fear,
But it is beyond my control and I will be poisoned by it as so many others have been,
I am afraid...

I am afraid...

I found fear...
