Forms Of Love

There are many forms of love
not all are meant to last.
Some are forms of learning
and some separate the past.

How do we tell in the earlier stage
whether 'our love' will be true?
Or if it's just a 'passing phase'
which will leave us feeling blue?

If one former 'passing stage'
leaves us bitter and cold.
Will we be able to trust the next one,
or will we grow lonely and old?

How do you tell what lies
within his heart so bold?
Do you take another chance on love,
or do you get left out in the cold?

The nights have been so lonely
and the days have had no life.
Will I find happiness in his arms,
or will I end up in strife?

Do I take this chance dear heart?
Or do I stay here safe?
It's a hard decision that I must make
and my head's all in a state.
