The Storyteller:

A Knight's Lament




In a small tavern miles away
The bards sing of forgotten fame
Yet one man remembers the fight
For he was the only witness.


In a corner he hides in hood
In his distraught mind the scenes play
The unrelenting memories
Of cruel fate's ghastly business.


Torturous thoughts of love lost sway
As shadows cast from candlelight.
Only the clear, bright light of day
Can dispel the vile, ghostly sight.


His broken heart cannot be stayed
By songs of untold strength and might.


The memories stirred…………………..
