Canvas In Oil

The canvas in oil
Hung here on my wall
Tells a story of love
To be shared by us all

Depicts timeless beauty
Romantic it’s true
Of roses and poetry
Pretty pinks, shimmering blues

The silver was polished
By Grandma with care
And when she wasn’t looking
Grandpa stole that red ribbon from her hair

Favorite pieces of hers
Especially the book
Which Grandpa added
From the little reading nook

The vases were filled
On that bright summer day
Then the artist went to work
On this masterpiece right away

T’was the most special day
For these elders you see
They were celebrating the date
Of their 50th Anniversary!
