Winters coming

Light of day is becoming more aloof
Nights getting longer with an increasing chill
Soon the lovely foliage will be gone in the grove
Not looking forward to this time of year
The bland days of grey we’ll have to face
Clinching our coats closer to keep warm
I hope no one comes down with ague
But I guess it’s not so bad
Sitting in front of the warm fire
Watching twilight seeping in outside the window
The sky sure looks like its primed to snow
We’re entering winters edge
Awaiting the New Year and a beautiful new spring
