The Flu

Looking out the window feeling all ague
This is what the flu can do to you
Everything is bland and it gives you a chill
Why can’t my aching body be still?
Shivering with cold my teeth start to clinch
Writing this poem isn’t a cinch
Thoughts drift back to spring when foliage was green
The grove of trees standing so tall and lean
Winter is here and Spring is gone for now
I will make till the new season some how
My body aches and I feel bad
Now that I wrote this challenge I dont feel so sad
Soon winter will be here with the snow
But this I know
Before long the spring will be here
All will be healthy and in good cheer
Feeling aloof and out of my prime
Feeling this bad is a terrible crime
So I wait for the twilight to bring on the night
So I can go back to bed and this cold can take flight
I will sleep and wait for the dawn of the new day
And hope with all hope that this cold goes away!
