Moments of Youth

I often wander’d on the beach
Before the summer sun would set
I’d listen to the singing sea
That was when I was still a kid;

Sometimes I gather’d happily
Sea shells that were of color peach
They also came in other hues
Under the rocks the sea waves hid;

Trekking to places I could reach
I gather’d driftwood from the sand
Under the sun I planned to bleach
Such treasures I admir’d with glee;

Life’s fifty-five mark I now breach
Moments of youth past I still keep!
