Bitter You

Your brilliant eyes, they light my face,
Like a candle, its flame flickers eternal,
My soul grows strong when you are near,
Your heart as true as the written gospel,

I want to be a better man,
A better man for you,
I'd want to be a better man,
Than see a bitter you,

What sentiments could I express,
That could only make you see,
What you are, in heart and soul,
Does to simple me,

I know I'm wrong more than I'm right,
Though I only confess a little,
And you are the glue on my tragic soul,
That keeps me oh so thankful,

Because my love,
I want to be a better man,
A better man to you,
I'd want to be a better man,
Than see a bitter you,

You have been on my mind,
When I know I have been wrong,
And when the darkness falls on me,
You help me to carry on,

Oh why must I always drag you down,
When you only lift me up,
And when I make a mess of things,
You are always there to clean it up,

I'm a child living a poor man's life,
Yet you stay here by my side,
You do so many things for me,
And never hurt my pride,

But honey,
I want to be a better man,
A better man for you,
I'd want to be a better man,
Than see a bitter you,

You are always there to ease my pain,
You are always in my dreams,
You always keep your sweet smiles,
You are always loving me,

My sweet savior,
I want to be a better man,
A better man to you,
Yes I'd want to be a better man,
Than see no more of you,
