Averted Storm

Clouds

They hung low,
Dark gray sheets laden with turmoil,
Stretching with unpent breath that threaten to puncture the soft heavy folds.

But there came gentle breaths,
Sweet firm airy weightlessness,
Caressing, tickling, and nudging them to lightheartedness.

They considered,
Turning one way then another,
Unwilling to loosen, yet the invisible charmers persisted.

They could not resist the teasing,
Their will thinned and parted -
The dense tangle of gloom was dispelled by playful nothingness.
