On Decisions

Mile Marker CCCLXXXIII

Pindaric Ode Verse

We swore there'd be no yesterday,
pursuing hopeless dream.
A wealth of knowledge poverty,
when reaching for the sun.
We swore that death would not betray,
that love it's gift redeem.
A wealth of knowledge history,
when all is said and done.

With blinded eyes we play the game,
swimming with sharks to feed.
Success around the corner lay,
too high the final cost.
How many of us feel the same,
tommorrow's only need.
Is happiness found yesterday,
through death and darkness lost.

Yet another moonless night,
bleeds unfaithful dawn.
In the quiet morning see,
a tragic memory.
Tell us when the pain is gone,
what we did was right? -02L
