In The Quiet Morning
Drained from all the chaos, emotions scarred.
Everything in tatters, ruined.
No warning came, only speculations surround.
Once magnificent and grand,
now nothing found.
Voices heard, cries of pain.
Seeing nothing but smoke and fire,
feelings of going insane.
Loud bombs dropping from all over the sky,
hoping and praying I would not die.
So many lives taken too damn soon,
trapped beneath water some before noon.
Who would have thought in the quiet morning
while asleep, a secret Japan did keep.
Doctors, nurses and priests caring for
the wounded, hospitals over run.
Bodies piling up outside in the hot sun.
Wondering will this nightmare ever end,
prayers to God we all do send.
Families devastated from news
that loved ones died.
Tears flow as metals are received
with great pride.
United we stand to protect our beautiful land.
We thank God, together hand in hand. -J7
