Grand Launch

For weeks she has taken care
Of a birdie that survived
A typhoon that lashed the forest
Her offspring remains in her care

Birdie learns to fly
Up, up to the sky
This morning she decides
To launch on his own

Rodents, worms and other birds
Watch the two birds up the tree
And when the birdie soars
Forest booms in applause.
